The design of the Cindare Xiyue Mansion was inspired by the Chinese slanted roof structure, creating an exuberant space with progressive layers, clear, transparent axes, and continuous visual guidance. The 465.4 square meter project, completed in September 2019 in Wuhu, Anhui, is a stunning example of how traditional architectural elements can be seamlessly integrated into modern design.
The unique properties of the design lie in its use of Tea Culture, a symbol of oriental beauty and humanism. Yirong Yang and the design team, including Jingrun Feng and Hairong Wu, extracted elements of Tea Culture to create an immersive sales center experience. The space is designed to provide sensory pleasure, with a classic and simplistic base tone and extensive use of wooden detailing.
The realization of the design involved the use of a slanted grating ceiling to conceal the lintel, creating a beamless structure that presents a more fluid view. The design team also paid great attention to the details, incorporating soft yellow tint lamps, Chinese ink painting style cushions, and touches of turquoise to liven up the space and infuse poetic elements into every corner.
Despite the challenges of adopting the Chinese slanted roof structure and creating a space with progressive layers, the design team successfully created a space that is both opposite and continuous. Their customer-oriented approach, combined with their deep understanding of art and extensive expertise, has resulted in a design that sets a new order for space aesthetics.
In conclusion, the Cindare Xiyue Mansion by Yirong Yang is a remarkable example of how traditional elements can be reinterpreted in a modern context. The project not only showcases the designer's innovative approach and attention to detail but also serves as a testament to the enduring appeal of traditional Chinese Tea Culture. It is no surprise that this unique design has been recognized with a prestigious Silver A' Design Award, a testament to its outstanding expertise and innovation.
